2017 BROUILLY LES PIERREUX
Brouilly is the second largest of the Beaujolais Crus - characterized by an array of soil types, most natably the blue slates. The vines for Cote Etoilee are an average of 30 years old, on slopes of clay, limestone, granite and blue schists in the Les Pierreux climat.
Grapes are handpicked followed by a 14 day whole cluster semi- carbonic maceration in concrete and steel tanks.

“Bright violet color. Displays spice- and mineral-accented red/blue fruit and floral pastille qualities on the highly perfumed nose. In an energetic style for the year, displaying intense black raspberry and boysenberry flavors that slowly deepen and turn sweeter on the back half. Finishes very long and floral, with harmonious tannins lending gentle grip.” - Josh Raynolds
