2015 Savigny-les-Beaune Dessus Les Vermots
Savigny-Les-Beaune is situated between the Hill of Corton and Beaune in a sub-valley formed by the Rhoin river, which flows just to the south of the village (of Beaune). This valley provides large swathes of south-facing slopes and if one of the most prolific in terms of production. There are 22 Premier Cru vineyards and 29 Lieux-Dits including Dessus les Vermots - a steep slope with hard clay-limestone soil.
Aged 10 months in French oak.
WINEMAKER TASTING NOTES |
Gold with emerald or light straw highlights, it has a floral nose. Its bouquet is full of butter, brioche. Accents of lemon, grapefruit, sometimes mineral. Its attack and liveliness contribute to the boldness of this clean, frank wine, where a lingering fleshy richness, spicy at times, finds its expression.
